Who is Veronica Mars uk?
Veronica Mars is an American teen noir mystery drama television series set in the fictional town of Neptune, California, starring Kristen Bell.
Veronica Mars is a student who moonlights as a private investigator and solves a different stand-alone case while working to solve a more complex mystery. The series was critically acclaimed and garnered several awards and nominations.
Following cancellation, Thomas wrote a feature film script continuing the series. Bell and Thomas launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter, which attained the $2 million goal in less than 11 hours.
Veronica Mars, a high school student, and private investigator is the daughter of a well-respected County Sheriff. After her best friend is murdered, her life falls apart and her father opens a private investigation agency, Mars Investigations.
Veronica discovers evidence suggesting that Abel Koontz, the man imprisoned after confessing to Lilly’s murder, is innocent. She explores the murder case, seeks her estranged mother’s whereabouts, and copes with being raped during an 09er party.
Veronica is a sleuth who investigates two new cases: a bus accident that kills several of her classmates and a PCH gang member who is killed. She also investigates a gold-digging stepmother and a mayor who molested several little league baseball team members.

Veronica, Logan, Wallace, Mac, and Dick are freshmen at Neptune’s Hearst College when the third season begins. Two new regular main characters are introduced: Stosh “Piz” Piznarski and Parker Lee, Wallace and Mac’s respective roommates.
The fourth season opens in 2019 with Veronica living with Logan in Neptune and still solving mysteries with Keith.
The first season had seven regular characters, including Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars, Teddy Dunn as Duncan Kane, Jason Dohring as Logan Echolls, Percy Daggs III as Wallace Fennel, Francis Capra as Eli “Weevil” Navarro, and Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars.

Thomas decided to introduce new characters for the series’ second season, including Jackie Cook, a romantic interest of Wallace’s, and Dick Casablancas and Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas. Dunn left the series midway through the season.
The third season introduced two new series regulars, Parker Lee and Stosh “Piz” Piznarski. Parker was Mac’s extroverted roommate and Piz was Wallace’s roommate and a music lover with his campus radio show.
Rob Thomas originally wrote Veronica Mars as a young adult novel for the publishing company Simon & Schuster but changed the protagonist to a female because he thought a noir piece told from a female point of view would be more interesting and unique.

Kristen Bell was chosen to play Veronica Mars by more than 500 women who auditioned for the role. Jason Dohring originally auditioned for the role of Duncan but ended up portraying Logan.
Percy Daggs III auditioned for Wallace Fennel’s role twice and took three tests with studio and network executives. Amanda Seyfried was cast as Lilly Kane and ended up being used three or four more times than initially planned.
The first two seasons of Veronica Mars had a season-long mystery arc, while the third season featured two smaller mystery arcs.
Thomas felt that Bell had been overworked in the first season and that the second season’s mystery arcs had “way too many suspects, way too many red herrings”.
The third season was originally planned to include three separate mysteries but was changed when The CW ordered a 20-episode season instead of the usual 22 episodes. The final mystery was originally going to be “unlike any of the others we’ve done before”.
The pilot was originally darker in tone than the one aired, and Thomas intended to take the script to FX, HBO, or Showtime, but UPN only wanted it a bit lighter to match their standards and practices.
The series was filmed at Stu Segall Productions in San Diego, California, and at Oceanside High School, University of San Diego, University of California, San Diego, and San Diego State University. The fourth season was filmed at the Sea Sprite Hotel in Hermosa Beach, California.
Dandy Warhols’ song “We Used to Be Friends” was used as the series theme song. Composer Josh Kramon used piano, vibraphone, and guitar, and processed and filtered the sounds to create a modern noir vibe.
The crew had a “spotting session” to decide what type of music would be featured in the episodes, and Kramon composed and created the whole score without another musician.
In January 2007, Dawn Ostroff announced that Veronica Mars would be put on hiatus after the February sweeps to air a new reality series, Pussycat Dolls Present. In June 2007, TV Guide confirmed that Veronica Mars was canceled.
Thomas stated that he was interested in writing a feature film based on the series and that he would like to bring back the key players and show Veronica Mars solving crimes in college rather than as an FBI agent.
In September 2008, Rob Thomas told Entertainment Weekly that he had hit a wall in the final act of the Veronica Mars movie and that he still wanted to make it. In June 2009, Kristen Bell said that she didn’t think the movie would ever happen.
Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell launched a Kickstarter campaign to get the film made, and the goal was met within 10 hours. The campaign raised $5,702,153, and production began in June 2013, with a projected early 2014 release.
The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest film festival and was released on March 14, 2014. It received positive reviews from critics.
In September 2018, Hulu confirmed the revival of Veronica Mars, and announced that it would consist of eight episodes. New cast members include Dawnn Lewis, Patton Oswalt, Clifton Collins Jr., and J. K. Simmons.
A digital spin-off of Veronica Mars was announced in January 2014, featuring Ryan Hansen portraying himself in an attempt to make a spin-off based on his character Dick Casablancas.
The rank of Veronica Mars in relation to other television series is shown below, along with the number of viewers it attracted during its primetime hours.
Although not a rating success, Veronica Mars was a critical success from its first season, and was praised for its “smart, engaging series about a former popular girl turned crime-solving high school outcast”, and for its “hard-boiled dialogue” and “class-conscious” character.
Veronica Mars was positively received by other writers, including Joss Whedon and Kevin Smith. Stephen King described the series as “Nancy Drew meets Philip Marlowe” and Ed Brubaker called it “the best mystery show ever made in America”.
Despite being a critical success throughout its run, criticisms began to emerge in its third season, with Keith McDuffee of TV Squad describing it as “disappointing”, and Eric Goldman of IGN describing it as “very choppy” but still having “plenty of witty dialogue” and a continually engaging performance by Kristen Bell as the title character.
Veronica Mars is a girl who works to solve her best friend’s murder while also investigating her own rape.
Veronica Mars has attracted a loyal and dedicated fan base. A group of fans called the “Cloud Watchers” organized several campaigns to bring more viewers to the series to ensure its continuation, and a feature film continuation was made possible through a Kickstarter fund.
Subscription channel Living began showing the series in the United Kingdom in 2005 and continued airing it until 2009. It was syndicated through the Living TV Group platform and premiered in Australia on November 28, 2005.
Kristen Bell Movies and Tv Shows
Kristen Bell has been starring in feature films and television series for quite a few years now, but there are a few roles that have fallen by the wayside and slipped from our collective consciousness altogether.
Gossip Girl – The Narrator and Herself

Kristen Bell narrates the original and current Gossip Girl reboots and appears as herself in the series finale. She also appears as the Narrator in the current HBO Max sequelboot.
Parks and Recreation – Ingrid De Forest

Kristen Bell made her mark on Parks and Recreation as the obnoxious Eagleton councilwoman Ingrid De Forest, though we can’t help but hate her a little bit after she steals Leslie Knope’s council seat in the merger.
Movie 43 – “Fake Supergirl”

Kristen Bell plays Supergirl in Movie 43, a film made up of short segments. She’s really good as the Girl of Steel, but it’s revealed that she’s actually the Riddler.
Scream 4 – Chloe

In the opening sequence of Scream 4, Bell’s character stabs her friend in the abdomen, annoyed by her constant critiques of a low-budget horror movie. This scene foreshadows how Scream 4 will inevitably end.
Fanboys – Zoe

A group of nerdy friends travels cross-country to watch Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace before its release date. Kristen Bell’s character, Zoe, gets them out of multiple sticky situations.
Heroes – Elle Bishop

Heroes were incredibly popular at first but then suffered largely due to the 2007-08 Writer’s Strike. Kristen Bell’s electricity-wielding character Elle Bishop became a fan favorite, but her death was highly criticized.
Deadwood – Flora Anderson

Kristen Bell played Flora Anderson in two consecutive episodes of Deadwood, and her beating and death are pretty brutal, in line with the show’s more mature tone.
Safety Not Guaranteed – Belinda

Kristen Bell plays Belinda, the apparently-deceased girlfriend of Kenneth (Mark Duplass), in Safety Not Guaranteed. She never died, and Kenneth swears that it’s because of his meddling with time.
Play It Again, Dick! – Veronica Mars/Herself

Ryan Hansen’s Play It Again, Dick! is a forgotten gem that follows Hansen as he attempts to get a Veronica Mars spin-off off the ground.
