We have learned that Ime Udoka, the coach of the Celtics, lied about his affair to Nia Long, making her unaware of it even though the team was busted months ago, and she needs all the support she can get after getting blindsided by her fiance, Nia Long.
According to sources close to the team and the couple, Nia and Ime had just moved to Boston with their 10-year-old son Kez, and were house hunting.
It was a sad twist for Nia because when she moved away, Ime had already been fully aware of his affairs with a married front office employee was about to blow up, because he had been told way back in July that the team was aware of their relationship, and an investigation was underway.
It is said, however, that Nia found out about it only a few days ago… and that she only found out about it because Ime knew things were about to go public.
It has been said by Nia, via her rep Shannon Barr… The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and members of the community has meant so much to me during this difficult time. Please respect my privacy while I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother, and I will continue to devote my attention to my children.”
Following Wednesday’s announcement by the Celtics that they would be punishing Ime, the social media backlash against Ime, as well as support for Nia, was swift.
A suspension was officially imposed on him by the Celtics last Thursday night, preventing him from taking part in the upcoming 2022-23 season.
As a result, Ime said, “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
